August Edouart spent his life making silhouettes of famous people.  This 125 page book contains duplicate silhouettes of famous Quakers that he  did cuttings of.  This visual legacy contains named and dated silhouettes of prominent families and individuals who were members of the Religious Society of Friends from 1827 to 1845.  There are 782 named cuttings, 139 Britons and 609 Americans - doctors, lawyers, teachers, ministers, abolitionists, government officials and their families are pictured.  This book would be of interest to anyone wanting to practice the art of cutting silhouettes or anyone interested in Quaker history from 1827 to 1845.  The book is in very good condition, the dust jacket has a lot of wear.  Please let us know if you have any questions.
