This is one of several vintage wonderful children's play books listed from the estate of a collector.  This book is a paste book, where the child cut the related objects to paste in the corresponding spaces.  This interesting original book was published in 1902 by W.E. Scull, and has never been used. This is a picture puzzle book featuring various rooms of a turn of the century house.  The first part of the book covers the parts of an upper middle class home of the era, including the lawn and then the parlor, the dining-room,  the bedroom, the nursery and the kitchen. The book then features "The Path to the Woods". The text through this section is rendered in prose, whereas in the second half, concerning trades, everything is in verse. The trades include the shopkeeper, the carpenter, the mason, the painter, the miller, the druggist, the watchmaker, the gardener, the carriage builder, ship builder and the shoemaker.
It's rare to find this amazing antique book in unused condition, however, it's is almost 120 years old and does have issues. The heavy cardboard inside pages are all intact and connected.  The pages with figures to cut out have come loose from the binding, as well as the covers. The covers do show aging and there's some light pencil "To Marion and From Aunt Hannah" on the top of the cover, not easily seen but should be mentioned.
As always, this antique book will be carefully packaged and shipped fully insured by seller...
