OKAMOTO IPPEI (1886-1948) was a manga artist born in Hakodate, Hokkaido. He was the father of the famous painter Okamoto Taro (1911-1996). He studied under Fujishima Takeji (1867-1943). In 1912, he entered a newspaper company Asahi Shimbun and made cartoons. He was the member of the first cartoonist organization in Japan called Tokyo Manga-kai. Size: (上) 24.5cm x 952cm
